Disappointed in Ground News, I was counting on their veracity to take the load of checking 100,000 news sources a day off of my shoulders. I’ll keep using them for the ease of access (since a lot of truly independent outlets don’t have mobile apps) but as SOON as I get another option I’ll be on my way.

I have been convinced my mom has some sort of neurodivergence for years now. Growing up, her….particularities… didn’t come across as jarring as they do in adulthood, but looking back it was something else 😅 One of the things that got blown up the most was our eating habits. If you “smacked” at the table, youd get sent to your room to eat by yourself. I think the first time I heard the word “abhor,” was when she said “I ABHOR people who eat with their mouths open. Did they grow up in barns?” Tragically, I have been traumatized into the same sensitivity and now also cannot deal with people’s chewing noises. I’ve probably traumatized @bornelder.eth getting on his ass about it too. Crazy how parents gift us with things like this lol.
