Frequently Asked Questions

Why didn't I get scored?

Everyone is welcome to use the word of the day in their posts, but only people who click "Accept Challenge" get scored. Make sure you accept the challenge before posting!

Can I use a variation or different tense of the word?

Unfortunately, no. The word in your post must match the word on the card exactly. Past tense, possessive, or plural forms won't get picked up.

When do scores come out?

Scores are calculated shortly after midnight UTC each day. You'll get a notification when your score is ready.

How is my score calculated?

AI evaluates your post on three dimensions: mastery (correct usage of the word), authenticity (natural, genuine expression), and originality (creative and unique usage).

Why was I removed from the leaderboard?

Leaderboard rankings and rewards are reserved for players who demonstrate consistent, original effort.

We monitor submissions for patterns that indicate low-effort or non-original participation, such as:

  • Reusing the same sentence structure across multiple days
  • Submitting highly formulaic or minimally varied responses
  • Copying or closely imitating other players
  • Patterns consistent with automated or bulk-generated text

Players flagged for these patterns may be excluded from leaderboard rankings and rewards. You can still play and receive scores every day.
