It is probably easier to be forthright in communication when you have a good understanding and awareness of your own values. Trust and clarity compound here.

temerityJun 24, 2026

The EU is bringing in MiCa regulations, but the UK seems to have the temerity to go even more hard-line. We have the Online Safety Act here. A commonly asked question on Reddit is 'Is crypto illegal in the UK?' Venice.ai likens the situation to a "late-stage nation's slide into Orwellian dystopia". I don't understand where all this regulation is coming from and highlight this hole in my knowledge to any creative types as something to study and report back on. Then again, there's much about crypto and politics I don't understand and, as I suggested in my last cast, I have significantly better things to waste my time on than finance.

I feel dumb and conflicted sometimes. I don't know, culture is conflicted isn't it? We get such confusing, messy messages about fairness, money, ethics, compassion, relationships, sexuality, just about anything you can think of. The people who seem to get it most right are the ones who have cut through all that noise to build a pristine set of their own values, and they stick to living by them.

quagmireJun 18, 2026

The EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation is frequently marketed as a milestone for consumer protection and market stability. However, for everyday crypto asset holders like me, the operational reality of these rules is quickly morphing into a complex regulatory quagmire. While the framework brings legitimacy to the asset class, it introduces structural changes that directly threaten liquidity, portfolio diversity, and user privacy. Basically, I'll lose money.

conundrumJun 17, 2026

Al adoption peaks among those with coding backgrounds. I've stayed on the sidelines since OpenClaw debuted. My lack of enthusiasm for Al coding ultimately boils down to a fundamental conundrum. I simply don't know what I want to build.

Yes. Sounds like she has a lot of interesting things to say re both social media and how laws and investment into medical science has long favoured men. From hysteria onwards, lack of decent funding into endometriosis and numerous fatigue-related conditions that historically affect women more than men have often been deemed inscrutable and failed to attract research and investment.

Slightly dissonant experience for me on Farcaster. Not sure why. I'll just flag it up here.

Pema Chödrön’s Start Where You Are has affected me. It has been inspiring. She writes so clearly, the space and tender approach that she recommends really evident in her prose. The book is about generating compassion for others, adopting an altruistic perspective in one's life. Big jump for me but... you start where you are.

Saturdays are idyllic for many people here. They get the freedom to do what they like and they like to hang out with family and friends, enjoy good food and chat, and drink alcohol; perhaps enjoy some music or football.
